BackInterRail opens subsidiary in Turkey

The Swiss InterRail Group is consistently expanding its international network: on August 8, InterRail opened an independent operating company in Turkey. The new company is registered under the name InterRail Uluslararası Nakliyat ve Lojistik Hizmetler T.A.Ş. and is based in Istanbul. Enver Eser is the company's managing director.
“We see great potential for InterRail to strengthen the trade lanes from and to China, CIS/Central Asia, but also from and to Western Europe through our own Turkish company. In a further step, we want to develop the new InterRail location into a HUB, e.g. also for transports from North Africa to the above-mentioned destinations," says the Group Management of InterRail Holding AG.
It is not least due to the pandemic and recurring problems on the EU-China trade lane that the focus on new routes is gaining momentum. In addition, many producers are realigning their supply chains and moving closer to their sales markets. InterRail is already handling numerous shipments which will benefit from the fact that there is now an operational InterRail site in Turkey.
With Enver Eser, an accomplished logistics expert has been won. He was with DHL for 20 years, where, in different executive positions, he managed and supervised numerous national and international logistics projects, most recently primarily in the rail sector.
“With its geo-strategically favorable location between Asia and Europe, Turkey is one of the most important international transport hubs, and not only acts as a bridge between East and West, but also towards the North and South. I very much look forward to supporting InterRail in further consolidating its market position," says Enver Eser.
InterRail at a glance
The InterRail Group, registered in Switzerland, is an international transport group with a focus on rail freight, and the owner of rolling stock and containers. As the operator of container block trains between Europe and Asia, InterRail has the specific knowhow for the transport of conventional and containerized cargo from and to the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as in CIS transit. InterRail has direct contracts with all national railway companies in the CIS. Among others, the service portfolio includes end-to-end freight rates, documentation, pre- and on-carriage for rail traffics, tracking and tracing as well as container provision.
