Sverdlovsk railways suggest to plan freight transportations on a monthly basis

Due to transition to summer timetable of passenger train movement and beginning of construction works at the Voinovka – Surgut section volumes of building materials loading must not exceed 200 wagons per day (including 150 wagons of crushed stone) from Sverdlovsk Railways, 100 wagons – from South Ural Railways.

“Therefore, regulation of loading of infrastructure at blocking sections Yekaterinburg – Tyumen – Tobolsk – Surgut and further to the north must be finalized before end of the year through monthly planning of transportations of building materials”, states the message of Sverdlovsk Railways with reference to Alexey Mironov, Head of the Sverdlovsk Mainline. Today, 118 operators of rolling stock work in the area of responsibility of Sverdlovsk Railways. In the beginning of May Board of Directors of JSC RZD approved progress works on the draft of the Unified network technology of freight rail transportations.

“The project is aimed at all railways and is currently in the Directorate for discussion and consideration. One of the important elements of park management is transition from constant acceptance of orders to monthly planning of transportations of cargo and empty wagons. An empty wagon can be moved from non-public railway tracks, accepted for carriage and sent only if there is an Agreement between the operator, the owner of rolling stock and the proprietor of non-public railway tracks”, states the message of Sverdlovsk Railways.

It clarifies that it is necessary to complete legal framework before introducing new technologies. Alexey Mironov also suggests to secure responsibility of private wagon owners for non-productive occupation of public railway tracks by law and to introduce financial responsibility for counter-movement of empty wagons.
