12.06.2012 South-Eastern railways increased loading by 9% in January - May
South-Eastern Railways (a subsidiary of JSC RZD) increased loading by 9% in January – May 2012 compared to same period of 2011 – up to 35 mln tons, the Mainline’s corporate communications office reports.

11.06.2012 Donetsk railways (Ukraine) reduced loading by 4.8% in January – May
Donetsk Railways, the leader in terms of freight transportations volumes within Ukrzaliznytsya, in January – May 2012 sent 58.4 mln tons of cargo which is 4.8% less than in the same period of 2011, reports State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine.

Freight turnover of Public joint stock company Vanino Commercial Seaport in January – May 2012 remained on the same level as last year and constituted 2 mln 278.8K tons, PR-department of the stevedoring company reported.

Development of infrastructure shall call for changes in the regulatory system. Russia is not investing enough money into railway infrastructure. In order to avoid infrastructure restrictions it is necessary to at least double investments in railway transport sector. This will enable it to meet global tendencies in growth of freight transportations.

18.01.2012 The Russian government confirmed 8 temporary railway border crossings at borders with Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine
The Russian government established temporary railroad crossing points at state borders with Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine. The corresponding Order dated December 30th, 2011 was signed by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and published today on the official web-site of the Cabinet of Ministers.
